ABOUT US

What we call our home could be so much more than within our four walls.

The “third home” is becoming more important for us. The third place is the social space separate from the traditional home as well as the workplace. It provides an inclusive forum for dialogue crucial for citizens, engagement, and community building. A good third place is easy to get to and is close to your home or work. You can pop in and out quickly without much stress or planning, and at the very least, inexpensive and you could use it to socialize, study or work, eat – and most importantly – a place where you feel good.

IT IS ALL ABOUT THE PEOPLE

Do More is a social enterprise, driven by a mission to help more people into employment. We want to explore how we can ”do more” to develop people and local society, and be a positive force in social development.

It is through people we make things happen, and the way we do it is together! Do More is the platform for unemployed people in our neighborhood, a place where they can learn and grow, using all their strengths.

In collaboration with Copenhagen municipality, we have developed a trainee program. This program gives citizens outside the labor market practical experience, relevant courses at the Hotel and Restaurant School in Valby, and guidance to help make them attractive new employees.

We are a meeting place for everyone and as a guest at Do More, you help more people into employment.

THE STORY BEHIND THE LOGOTYPE

When we started this journey, we knew one thing for sure: We wanted to create a unique logotype with a clear message.

Have you noticed the heart in our logotype? As mentioned, we believe in people and everyone should have the same opportunities to enter the labor market. The heart stands for just that, the many people. The leaf in the heart stands for our food concept which is organic, vegetarian, and a mixed fusion between the Middle East and Scandinavia.

We believe in what we do, and our logotype stands just for that!

DO MORE INTERIOR CONCEPT

The interior concept of DM Copenhagen restaurant seamlessly blends Scandinavian simplicity with Arabic traditional design, creating a both unique and understated atmosphere. The carefully curated material palette includes clean wood, earthy clay tones, tiled surfaces, vibrant textiles, and lush greenery. This combination of color and texture evokes a sense of desert living while also paying homage to the minimalist aesthetic of Scandinavian homes.

The interior design focus aims to minimize the restaurant’s carbon footprint. The selected surfaces and materials are either of organic origin or sourced from recycled materials.

For example, the walls are clad in brick tiles made from 60% recycled construction waste, the ceilings are fitted with Søuld acoustic panels, crafted from locally grown eelgrass (the grass undergoes an annual self-renewal process in the sea, washing the remnants ashore without any human intervention), and other surfaces in the restaurant are coated with organic clay plaster.

Light-colored wood is selected for both furniture and the movable wall partitions in the restaurant. Additionally, wood serves as the substructure for the floor construction, reducing the use of oil and cement-based materials commonly employed in similar applications.

Through a thoughtful combination of aesthetics and eco-conscious choices, DM Copenhagen restaurant’s interior concept achieves a balance between cultural influences and resource-responsible practice.

The DM Copenhagen restaurant is designed by ADEPT and the responsible construction entrepreneur is Logik & Co.
